Casting Out the Beam: Learning to See Through Christlike Emotional Sobriety is now available on Amazon.

What if the greatest obstacle to seeing another person clearly is the distortion already shaping our own sight?

In the Savior’s teaching about the mote and the beam, the beam is not merely a larger fault. It is something through which we see.

Fear, shame, attachment, resentment, unmet needs, appetite, social loyalty, projection, and self-justification can alter perception before conscious judgment begins. A person may recognize something real in another person while still seeing it through an obstruction that distorts proportion, motive, meaning, or the proper response.

Casting Out the Beam explores how Jesus Christ restores the capacities required for clearer sight through the Seven Governing Dynamics:

Respondability develops the capacity to remain present and respond faithfully.

Sociability develops digestive differentiation within attachment, belonging, and influence.

Engageability develops acceptance, purpose, and willing participation.

Charitability purifies attention, love, motive, justice, and mercy.

Sovereignability establishes truthful ownership, legitimacy, responsibility, limits, and stewardship.

Discernibility separates observation, emotion, inference, reputation, projection, evidence, and revelation.

Teachability allows correction, repentance, repair, and continued maturation without shame.

This is not a book about distrusting every perception, excusing wrongdoing, abandoning evidence, or surrendering necessary boundaries. It is an invitation to become inwardly examinable while remaining capable of righteous judgment.

Justice requires clear sight.

Mercy requires clear sight.

Correction requires clear sight.

Protection, leadership, parenting, ministry, reconciliation, and personal revelation all require a perceptual instrument increasingly purified through Jesus Christ.

The governing prayer of the book is simple:

Lord, show me my beam.

Not so that we may condemn ourselves.

Not so that false accusations become true.

Not so that evil is called good.

But so that Christ can help us repent, repair, discern more faithfully, and become sober enough to see.

An Extraordinary Production Day

The conceptual development for this book began during significant discussions on the morning of July 15, 2026.

Drafting began at 2:50 p.m. and concluded at 4:08 p.m.—a total drafting time of one hour and eighteen minutes.

The completed manuscript contains approximately 69,200 words, including the Table of Contents.

During the same day, the manuscript was formatted, publication materials were completed, the cover was developed and finalized, the website was updated, and the finished book was submitted to Amazon KDP at 8:15 p.m.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. that same evening, Amazon notified me that the book was live, with an official publication date of July 16, 2026.

This rapid production was not the beginning of the work. It was the fruit of decades of observation, study, prayer, writing, sacrifice, and the progressive development of the Seven Governing Dynamics.
